London Police Called To Site Of Reported UFO Crash

It wasn’t exactly the legendary Roswell, New Mexico, crash of 1947 that still confounds UFO researchers. Still, the recent incident in the Kingston area of southwest London is remarkable in its own right.
On Oct. 17, Kingston police posted the following item on their Facebook page:
Have Kingston Police recovered the first UFO!? Last night at around midnight, a concerned member of the public called us on 999 stating that there was an unknown item on fire in the middle of the road. Officers from Emergency Response Team A were dispatched along with the London Fire Brigade. When they arrived on scene, they couldn’t believe their eyes! The officers … described the item as looking like a crash-landed UFO!
The orange-blue-colored hemispherical object was partially smashed with pieces of it strewn over the street around it.
The Kingston police asked the public’s assistance in figuring out what exactly the smashed object could be, and more importantly, “how it ended up being there.”
Some of the comments that poured in included:
“Yeaaaaaah, this sort of thing makes people who believe in UFOs look bad. It’s obviously something ordinary. It was probably something on the bed of a truck that got flipped over the side by a sharp turn.”
“That’s a barbecue grill, how can this be strange?”
“Looks like a fire place/outside oven if you turn the pictures upside down.”
“Someone stole a pizza oven (mosaic tiles on outside typical of a fire burning oven) so it was stolen either from a restaurant or someone’s garden.”
“Simple Google image search shows loads of mosaic pizza ovens. Amazing those Martians still use them.”
According to Independent.co.uk, “online detectives eventually helped deduce the object was, in fact, a pizza oven.”
But there’s been no follow-up explanation about how the UFO-pizza oven got there in the first place.
If the oven fell off a truck, flipped over and continued burning, does that mean the customer doesn’t have to pay for the pie?
Now, that’s some pizza delivery service.
