Scientists Confirm Mysterious Space Signal Could be Aliens Trying to Talk to Us

Don’t panic, but aliens might be trying to make contact with Earth.

Over the last decade, astronomers and scientists have been trying to discover the source of “fast radio bursts,” FRBs, which are unexplained cosmic energy waves.

New research from a group of Australian scientists concluded the temporary, random bursts of energy are coming from outer space, not Earth.

They could be anything from stars colliding to artificial messages… or they could be aliens.

Professor Matthew Bailes from Swinburne University of Technology in Melbourne wrote in the Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society,

Perhaps the most bizarre explanation for the FRBs is that they were alien transmissions.

While we don’t know for sure if extraterrestrial beings are trying to get in touch with humans, we have been able to pinpoint three likely locations of these mysterious signals thanks to the Molonglo radio telescope, which has a powerful focal length that was believed to be the main reason for locating them.

Simple explanation or are aliens invading the nation?

MailOnline quoted Professor Anne Green of the University of Sydney, who said,

It is very exciting to see the University of Sydney’s Molonglo telescope making such important scientific discoveries by partnering with Swinburne’s expertise in supercomputing.

It is believed they originate from distant galaxies that are billions of light years from Earth.

They were first discovered in 2007 but are notoriously hard to study, and understandably so. They are rare, they last a short time and they appear randomly.

The discovery was made by a team of researchers from Swinburne University of Technology using the Molonglo radio telescope to locate three of the FRBs.

New software was designed by Australian National University PhD student Manish Caleb. According to MailOnline, he said.

The telescope revealed three FBRs came from space, but only one was pinned down to an individual galaxy.
