UFO Spotted, Photographed over Coventry in UK

A YOUNG couple have told how they spotted “a UFO” hovering in the Coventry night sky. Kieran Smith and girlfriend Sophia Whelan were amazed when they noticed a spooky triangle of lights moving above them in Coundon.

See our exclusive video of the sighting here.

Kieran, aged 17, recorded their close encounter in Barkers Butts Lane using the video on his mobile phone.

They made the discovery on Wednesday, June 11, at about 9.45pm. The pair have both been sceptical about unidentified flying objects in the past, but that has all changed after that evening’s experience. Kieran, of Clovelly Road, Wyken, said: “I was amazed, completely shocked by what we saw. We just couldn’t explain it.

“If anyone had told me that they had seen something which resembled a UFO, I wouldn’t have believed them, but now that has changed.

“We just stood there staring at it. There were three bright lights in a triangle shape. They then moved and formed a perfect line. It was incredible.”

The lights stayed in the sky for almost four minutes and the pair watched until they suddenly disappeared. The couple are putting the images on to the internet in case anyone else in Coventry saw the unusual incident.

Sophia, aged 18, who is a full-time carer, added: “We were inside the house when my mum called us outside. We just stood in the garden looking up at the lights.

“We really have no idea what it was, but we have never seen anything like this before.

“Obviously when you see something like this, you can’t help but think that it could be a UFO – something neither of us have believed in before.”

Kieran, who went to Caludon Castle School, in Axholme Road, Wyken, is a trainee mechanic and previously worked at Green Garage, in Walsgrave Road. He is hoping to get engaged to Sophia, who was a former pupil at Tile Hill Wood School, in Nutbrook Avenue, sometime soon.

UFO Spotted, Videotaped in Lancashire? Decide for Yourself
UFO-Lancashire Lights

See video of the unexplained lights which appear to be hovering above a house in Lancashire.Look up and tell me YOU can see lights in the sky… I saw two orange blob-looking objects form into one – I ran upstairs and burst into tears…It was so black there was no shine from it at all… Orange blobs and wobbling silver discs – just some of the unexplained objects seen hovering and floating above Lancashire.

In Monday’s Lancashire Evening Post, Plungington pub landlord John Gibirdi and Fulwood pensioner Celia Williams told their tales of strange happenings in the skies.

Since then, more baffled readers have been in touch, adding fuel to the fire that the county ranks third as the place people are most likely to see a UFO, according to the Ministry of Defence.

Several people, including Jane Taylor, of Rose Avenue in Ashton, say they saw the same orange lights that 79-year-old Mrs Williams saw at around 11.30pm on Saturday, June 7.

Jane said: “My mum had a stroke and I was outside Accident and Emergency having a cigarette when I saw six of them coming out of the sky.

“I said to the ambulance man ‘Look up and tell me that you can see lights in the sky’.

“I thought I was going mad.”

Katrina Stocks, 18, from Hoghton, contacted us to say that in 2006 she saw similar-looking UFOs that shocked her so much, she cried. Katrina, a business administrator, said: “I was sitting on my living room windowsill at around 1am when I saw two orange blob-looking objects form into one and then disappear.

“I froze at the sight of it.

“My friend and brother were worried as I didn’t move. My face had dropped and I was as white as a ghost. I ran upstairs to my mum and dad and burst into tears.”

Charles Maddox, of Fox Lane, Leyland, got in touch to say he and his son, Danny, 16, saw a UFO on June 11 above their garden. Charles, who says he has seen three UFOs in the past 20 years, said: “We watched it for a good five minutes.

“It was a black, round, large object. The odd thing about it was it was so black that there was no shine from it at all.

“There was an aeroplane some miles above it and it was shining silver as they do from the evening sun.”

UFO Seen over M4 Service Area near Berkshire, U.K.
UFO-Depiction

By Anna Roberts 3/ 7/2008-Police have confirmed they have received a report that a UFO was spotted in the skies above Berkshire.Thames Valley Police were contacted by a concerned man who spotted the ‘flying saucer’ hovering above Chieveley services at junction 13 of the M4.

Reading Police spokesman Adam Fisher, when contacted by the Evening Post, confirmed officers had been told about the X-Files-style object.

He said: “We were called at 8.40am on Monday, June 30, by a man from London who reported seeing a UFO over the Chieveley area that morning. His details have been passed on to a body that specialises in that field.”

This is not the first time such objects have been glimpsed over the motorway. An official Ministry of Defence (MoD) report revealed in February 2007 a UFO was sighted over the Swindon section of the M4. The report said: “An object fell from the sky. It had like a green halo around it. Was very bright.”

In the past, according to figures released by the MoD, flying saucers have also been glimpsed over Woodley, Arborfield and Reading.

Bizarrely, nearby Wokingham appears to be something of a hotbed for UFO sightings. In the past 10 years there have been numerous sightings of UFOs in the skies above the town.

Michael Soper, who is in his 60s, has been investigating flying saucers for years with the group, Contact International UFO Research.

Mr Soper, who lives in Oxfordshire and in the past believes he has been abducted by aliens, said: “This latest sighting was phoned through by Thames Valley Police. A person said they saw a stubby winged object with an enormously bright green light going smoothly, effortlessly, across the sky.

“We were interested the police would phone it through to us.

“On this occasion they were very helpful.

“They have changed their attitude to UFO sightings.

“It is unusual to see a UFO this bright and in daylight. There is no doubt whatever it was a UFO.”

Mr Soper, talking generally about UFOs in Reading, said Caversham was an alien hotspot.

“We have had a lot of things happening north of Reading,” he said. “People have repeatedly mentioned pearl-like objects above the skies in the Caversham area.”

However, some people have cast doubt on Mr Soper’s claims, suggesting flying objects are nothing more than Chinese lanterns, aeroplanes or hot air balloons.
