Giant Dinosaur Footprints Discovered In The Gobi Desert

– These huge footprints were certainly not left by a small animal, that’s for sure. In fact, they are considered to be one of the world’s largest dinosaur footprints ever found.

Discovered in the Gobi Desert by a joint Mongolian-Japanese expedition, these huge 77-centimetre-wide (30-inches-wide) prints offer clues about the giant creatures that roamed the Earth millions of years ago.

It is believed the footprints belong to Titanosaur, a long-necked plant-eating dinosaur. It was one heaviest animals ever to walk the earth, weighing up to 90 tons (82 tonnes).

“This is a very rare discovery as it’s a well-preserved fossil footprint that is more than a meter long with imprints of its claws,” said a statement issued by Okayama University of Science.

Dinosaurs are long gone, but we’re still able to find fascinating traces of their existence.

The world’s largest dinosaur footprints ever discovered are located near France’s Jura Mountains. The imprints measure up to 2 meters (6ft 6in) in diameter.

In Bolivia there is also a very intriguing huge vertical rock with thousand of gigantic dinosaur footprints.

In 2015, researchers found rare giant 170-million-year-old dinosaur footprints on Isle of Skye.
