THIS incredible natural phenomenon made it appear as though there was a glitch in Britain’s skies this morning.
The rare «Mother of Pearl» coloured clouds were spotted over Langwathby, Cumbria.
The polar clouds — also known as nacreous clouds — form at temperatures around -80C and reach heights between 50,000ft to 85,000ft in the stratosphere.
They are are more commonly seen in the polar regions.
