Mysterious UFO-like circle is spotted floating over a Chinese beach… but eagle-eyed locals quickly work out what it really is

BEACHGOERS in China were left stunned when a mysterious UFO-like object was seen floating above sun-seekers at a popular resort.

The black ring hovered over crowds before slowly disappearing from view as hundreds watched on at Jinshitan beach in Dalian, Liaoning Province on Saturday

The mobile phone footage was uploaded to Pear Video and also showed the object appear to change shape to a rectangle before it disappeared.

In video, someone can be heard saying: “There is an unidentified flying object appearing in the sky. Its oval shape is expanding and it is coming towards us closer and closer.”

People on the beach can be seen pointing and gasping in confusion as they watch the object float through the sky.

But after sparking speculation online, web users from the local area were able to solve the riddle.

It emerged the black ring was a special visual effect from a performance at a nearby event.

One commenter said: “Whenever the show started, they shot out a black smoke ring.”

A spokesperson from the show later confirmed the smoke ring was a flame effect from the performance.
