Does this painting prove ALIENS were present at the Crucifixion of Jesus? Probably not… but that’s what UFO watchers are claiming

CONSPIRACY theorists have gone wild over claims aliens were present at Christ’s crucifixion.

A painting on the walls of the Svetitskhoveli Cathedral in Georgia, which shows Jesus being crucified while surrounded by a crowd, apparently features UFOs way beyond humans’ technological abilities at that time.

One man in the painting even seems to be gesturing towards the objects.

The Express reports art historians who have studied the 11th century piece say the weird dome-shaped ‘crafts’ represent guardian angels.

But this is thought to conflict with usual depictions of guardian angels during the Byzantine period, as they were usually drawn with wings.

Meanwhile, the mysterious objects have also been spotted in other depictions of Christ.

Conspiracy theory website Ancient Aliens claimed: “The unknown artist seems to be telling us that these flying saucers were present during the death of Jesus.

“The faces likely mean these crafts were piloted by people, or beings, that seem to play a central role in the event.

“They must have been part of the crucifixion story, at least as it was taught by the Georgian Orthodox church.

“Were early artists and the Orthodox Church aware of certain facts about ancient aliens that have been veiled from us today?”

It follows the emergence of two separate texts from Egypt, held in the Morgan Library and Museum in New York City and the other at the Museum of the University of Pennsylvania, which suggest Jesus was actually an alien shape-shifter.
